British firm Cosby (KSB) has won a 5 billion rupee ($63 million) contract from Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) to manufacture cooling pumps. Under the contract, Cosby will supply eight primary cooling pumps and related accessories for units 5 and 6 of the Kaiga nuclear power plant in India, to be delivered in 2026. Cosby had signed a contract with NPP in 2018 to supply eight primary cooling pumps for two units to be built in Gorakhpur, Haryana state. Currently, the two parties are discussing the provision of primary auxiliary pumps for the two units. In the future, the Indian Nuclear Power Corporation intends to construct 12 more units with a capacity of 700 megawatts, and Cosby hopes to continue supplying cooling pumps.
