Concrete will be poured in November for the second reactor at Egypt's Dabah nuclear power plant

According to the agreed timetable for the Dabah project, concrete will be poured in November for the second reactor at the plant, which will have a capacity of 1,200 megawatts, according to Amjad al-Wakeel, head of the Egyptian Nuclear Power Authority. Concrete will be poured for the remaining two reactors, each with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts.

According to the schedule of the commercial project, the first nuclear reactor with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts will be operational in 2028, with the remaining reactors coming on stream in order to reach full capacity by 2030. By then, the total capacity of nuclear power on the national grid will be 4,800 megawatts.

The Dabah nuclear power Plant is environmentally friendly and enjoys the highest nuclear safety standards.

The government agreement between Egypt and Russia, represented by the Russian company Rosatom, stipulates that the plant will be a third-generation reactor, which contains a simple but reliable design and is resistant to "human factor" operational errors.
