Polish Copper Group (KGHM) and Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE) have submitted two applications to the Polish National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) for the evaluation of modular small reactor technology.
In February 2022, POcopper signed a definitive agreement with NuScale Power for the deployment of the first NuScale VOYGR small reactor plant in Poland, which will be completed as early as 2029.
In December 2021, Synthos Green Energy (SGE) and PKN Orlen (PKN Orlen) signed an investment agreement to form Orlen Synthos Green Energy, a joint venture focused on the GEH BWRX-300 small reactor. Synthos Green energy and its partners aim to deploy the first BWRX-300 small reactor plant in 2029.
